Checked out the sites Digg, Reddit, Mixx and Newsvine. Love the idea of finding the best stories as voted by users without editor control! Just the people's votes. These sites are all new to me and I appreciate knowing that they exist. I set up an account on Digg and recommended a story I recently read at SFgate. Will check back later to see how many Diggs it received and reader comments. Will also use Digg to find stories that interest me.
Increase your popularity? If you interconnect all your social-media profiles you will increase your visibility. In addition, be an active and regular participant. Reciprocate in terms of votes, blogging on other's blogs. Over time your reputation and popularity will get stronger
